Sleep apnea may lead to various health complications for instance feeling tired when you wake up in the morning. Other complications could be poor immunity, an increased risk of getting mental illness, risk of memory loss, and heart failure.
Types of Sleep Apnea
There a mainly three types of sleep apnea
1. Obstructive apnea
2. Central apnea
3. Complex apnea
The most common one is obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) it affects 2-4% of the American population. This type of apnea causes difficulty in breathing since when you sleep normally the tracheal muscles relax and the trachea narrows. This thus causes difficulties in ineffective breathing, due to narrow air pathways.
In the current market, we can find several treatments, this involves breathing devices and mediation. Although most of the treatments are only effective when used in the short term. Also, lifestyle changes can drastically increase the quality of life and sleep in a given period
